Field of Honor

The Field of Honor® project is presented by the Kiwanis Club East Fork Region and Event Sponsor, Clermont County Veterans Service Commission. The event will have opening ceremonies at four locations on Saturday November 6th starting at Amelia Nurre Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M.; followed by Bethel Middle School at 10:30 A.M., Williamsburg School District Building at 1:30 P.M. and Batavia at 3:00 P.M.  Each location will have 100 flags on display through November 28th to honor our military and first responders for their service and sacrifice.  Master of Ceremonies will be Frank Morrow, Executive Director, Clermont County VSO.

Site sponsors are Ace Hardware of Bethel, American Modern Insurance, Huhtamaki, and Moore Family Funeral Home. The community Sponsor is the Batavia Police Officers Association, and the Freedom Sponsor is Peoples Bank. Soldier Accounted for from Korean War.

March 29, 1931 – December 2, 1950

WASHINGTON  –   The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) announced today that Army Cpl. Kenneth R. Foreman, 19, of Mount Orab, Ohio, killed during the Korean War, was accounted for June 7, 2021.  Corporal Kenneth R. Foreman of Brown County, Ohio is coming home after 71 years.  Kenneth was serving in the US Army during the Korean War as a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 32 Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was reported missing in action and ultimately declared dead on December 2, 1950. He was in North Korea the Battle of Chosin Reservoir when his Battalion was attacked by enemy forces. Corporal Foreman was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Crosspoint Wesleyan Church located on 300 West Main Street, Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154, family and friends will be received beginning at 12:00 pm until the time of service.  Burial will follow at Mt. Orab Cemetery, Chaplin David Long officiating.
